The Synergistic Hand-Wrist Rehabilitation Platform designs and develops an integrated rehabilitation system for patients with hand spasticity and impaired hand-wrist function.

The platform employs soft robotic actuation and control technologies to provide controlled, adaptive and safe assistance for finger and wrist rehabilitation. By enabling coordinated hand-wrist movement and patient-specific therapeutic assistance, SHARP aims to support functional recovery and improve the effectiveness of rehabilitation for people affected by neurological motor impairments.

It combines progressive rehabilitation modes with assessment of motion, force and muscle activity, and adapts the robotic assistance to what the assessment finds.
