Habibe Asran is an MSc candidate and graduate researcher in biomedical engineering, specialising in rehabilitation robotics, wearable assistive exoskeletons, adaptive and assist-as-needed control, smart-material actuation and biomedical mechatronics. Her current research develops the assistive rehabilitation stage of the REACT system, with adaptive control strategies that modulate robotic assistance according to user performance and physiological feedback.

Education

  • M.Sc., Biomedical Engineering, Istanbul Medipol University, 2024–present
  • B.Sc., Biomedical Engineering, Istanbul Medipol University, 2020–2024, Honors

Research experience

Graduate Researcher, Living Robotics Laboratory, 2024–present. Developing the REACT wearable rehabilitation exoskeleton from controlled passive mobilization toward active-assistive and assist-as-needed rehabilitation; designing adaptive control strategies driven by movement performance, joint-position feedback and muscle activity; contributing to tendon-driven transmission, SMA actuation, magnetic-encoder sensing, sEMG integration, dynamic modeling and experimental validation; developing the current-regulation circuitry and electrical control architecture, including PCB layout.

Undergraduate Research Assistant, 2022–2024. Early prototypes of a wearable finger exoskeleton for tendon rehabilitation, CAD design, kinematic and dynamic analysis, and a PI-controlled current-regulation circuit for SMA actuation.

Other contributions

Poster presentations at ECOMAT 2025 and the Turkish Robotics Conference 2026. Workshops: LITES 2025 and the SABITA Trends Workshop. Two patent applications are under review at the Turkish Patent and Trademark Office, covering a current-regulation circuit for robotic actuation and the REACT system design.
